Sandalanka Central College is one of the schools which is mentioned at the beginning of free education. Our school is located in a beautiful village called Sandalankawa, which belongs to the Giriulla region in Kurunegala District, North-Western Province. The paternity of Mother Sandalak is mentioned in the name of Hon. Vincent Subasingha.

- Loss of opportunities for middle class children to get the higher education.
- Sandalanka Central College was established along with the concept of free education of Hon. C.W.W.Kannangara.
With the development of people in the Pearl of the Indian ocean, by the year 1900, with Sri Lanka's strong orientation towards western education, the rural citizens also felt the need to give their children high and quality English education.
